Sensuous Spanish cities, the sun-soaked Costa del Sol and Portugal's lively Lisbon beckon you in this active 13 night tour. Your travel companions hail from Australia, New Zealand, North America and Britain.

Single? Nearly half of the tour participants are traveling solo. We can match you with a roommate (same sex of course) to save the single occupancy supplement. Year round departures will fit everyone's vacation time.

Fall in love with the beauty, history, and culture of Spain and Portugal! This tour's got a fantastic combination of excellent beaches, rich cultural heritage and vibrant, lively cities for you to enjoy.

Trip Itinerary:

Arrive Madrid. After checking in to your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to explore the Spanish capital. This evening, meet your Tour Manager and fellow travelers.

Madrid to Cordoba. Today begins with a morning drive to Toledo, where we see the Gothic Cathedral and El Greco's house. We then head south into the heart of Andalusia. (B,D)

Cordoba to Granada. This morning will be spent discovering this fascinating old city including the Mosque of the Caliphs. Time to shop for famed Cordovan Leather. We continue south towards the Sierra Nevada Mountains to hilltop Granada. Later this afternoon visit the Alhambra Palace, former residence of the Moorish Kings. (B,D)

Granada to Mijas - Costa del Sol. This morning your chance to further explore Granada and the Albaicinian district of the city steeped in Moorish history. In the afternoon, we head towards Mijas and nearby Torremolinos, the most popular and lively Mediterranean resort on the Costa del Sol. (B)

Costa del Sol at leisure. A full day to relax and do as you please - catch some sun on the nearby, gorgeous sandy beaches, go shopping or soak up the atmosphere at one of the resort's many open-air cafes. Tonight party Spanish-style at the local tapas bars. (B)

Mijas to Seville. Back on the road again passing the millionaires resort of Marbella and on to La Linea. We cross to the imposing Rock of Gibraltar, where you have a chance to see the famous Barbary Apes which inhabit the rock. Then on to the 1992 World Expo city of Seville. Enjoy the Andalusian cuisine tonight. (B)

Seville Sightseeing. Our city tour this morning includes many of Seville's important sights, like the Maria Luisa Park. Take the opportunity to visit the tomb of Christopher Columbus and the Giralda. Later tonight why not enjoy a spectacular flamenco show? (B,D)

Seville to Lisbon. Heading north we cross the Portuguese border, we stop at Elvas with its 16th century aqueduct before crossing into Portugal and its capital - Lisbon. Explore Rossio Square and later stroll out and listen to the haunting Fado melodies in the Bairro Alto? (B)

Lisbon Sightseeing. The beautiful medieval quarter Belem Tower, monument to the discoveries and magnificent sweeping views over the Tejo River are included in this morning's sightseeing tour. Your afternoon is free, giving you time to shop for Lisbon's famous ceramics and cork products. (B,D)

Lisbon to Salamanca. A scenic morning drive takes us into the Serra d'Aire Mountains to visit the shrine of Fatima, the scene of celebrated religious miracles. A chance to taste local port before arriving in the lively student city of Salamanca. (B,D)

Salamanca to Madrid. Time to explore this university city before visiting the walled city of Avila. As we enter Madrid a panoramic tour including Puerto Del Sol. (B,D)

Madrid Sightseeing. Morning sightseeing includes a guided tour of the Royal Palace, plus an opportunity to visit the Valley of the Fallen. The rest of the day is free, perhaps visit the Bull Ring or shop for leather and famous Lladr porcelain. Why not have a farewell dinner to mark the end of a memorable tour? (B)
Please note: Tour of the Royal Palace may be substituted with a tour of the Prado if the Royal Family is in residence.

Depart Madrid. Time to swap addresses and say goodbye as your tour ends after breakfast. (B)
